DAR DONATION — Reelfoot Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented two books pertaining to the U.S. Constitution to Black Oak Elementary School’s library. The books were given to the library as the DAR chapter works toward one of its objectives of “helping to afford the young such advantages as shall develop in them the largest capacity for performing the duties of American citizens.” Among those on hand for the donation were (from left, seated) Barbara Sellers, librarian; Joel Curl, fourth-grader and son of Myla and Don Curl; Pat Conner, fourth-grade teacher; (standing) Ty Rivers, fourth-grader and son of Deedy and Matt Rivers; Jolinda Gurien, fourth-grade teacher; Sheila Stone, principal; Jacob Warren, fourth-grader and son of Jill and Brandon Warren; Abbie Midkiff, fourth-grader and daughter of Christie Parsons and Jackie Midkiff; and Ann Thompson of the DAR.
