Hayes to speak
The Rev. Drew Hayes from Mt. Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church in  Bowling Green, Ky., will speak on “Shouting in the Streets,” based on Mark 1:40-44, Sunday at Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is  a graduate of University of Louisville and Memphis Theological Seminary. He is currently the senior pastor for Mt. Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The church family will meet for worship at 11 a.m. at 631 East Church St.
There will be no evening Bible study this week since the congregation’s youth director, Jamie Adams, will be at Camp Clark Williamson for a youth rally/retreat.

Calhoun named interim
Pleasant Valley and Shady Grove United Methodist churches in the Union City area are welcoming the Rev. Jim and Pat Calhoun to their congregation. Calhoun is serving both congregations as interim pastor.  Pleasant Valley Methodist is also welcoming Valerie Combs as music director.
The Pleasant Valley church family meets for worship at 10:30 each Sunday morning at 1422 Pleasant Valley Ave. Shady Grove meets at 9:15 a.m.

Church tells news
First Assembly of God is launching a new series, “Upside Down: A Study of Acts,”  Sunday. This series is based on Acts 17:6, “... these who have turned the world upside down ...” First Assembly offers worship services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. on campus or worshipers can watch online live Sunday morning. Spaghetti supper set
Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God, located at 3141 Marvin Vaught Road near Troy, will host a spaghetti supper Saturday from 6-8. Plates will include spaghetti, salad, roll, baked potato, dessert and beverage for $5, with children 6 years old and younger eating free.

Sportsmen Night slated
Union City Second Baptist Church will sponsor Sportsmen Night Out March 29, with the meal to begin at 5:30 p.m. and the program at 7.

To serve pancakes
A fund raising pancake breakfast to help send a male mission well-digging team to West Africa in September is being planned for Feb. 25 from 8-10 at Pentecostal Tabernacle, located at 16235 State Route 45 South in Water Valley, Ky. The breakfast will be donation only.
