Fussell’s best total
lifts Texas to win

Former Obion County Central girls’ basketball standout Chassidy Fussell matched her career-high with 30 points to help The University of Texas surprise Oklahoma 87-62 in Big 12 Conference play Saturday.
Fussell’s monster scoring game also included seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocked shots for the Longhorns (16-12, 6-10 in conference play). She made 10-of-22 field goals in all, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range and 7-of-7 from the free throw line.
Fussell was a two-time all-stater at OCCHS and was the Class 2A Miss Basketball winner her senior season in 2010.

‘Golden Boy’ earns
NWA title shot

“The Golden Boy” is set for a golden opportunity.
Greg Anthony, “The Golden Boy,” defeated “The Trend Setter” Jon Michael in front of over 200 fans for Saturday night’s NWA Warriors of Wrestling Federation main event in Union City to become the top contender for NWA Southern Heavyweight Championship.
Anthony will get his title shot as the main event on this Saturday’s card when he sqares off against champion Drew Haskins.
Other results from this past weekend had “The Marvel” Stan Lee defeating The Fabulous Rocker, Bull Bronson running through Joseph Borne, “3G” Eric Wayne taking down The Tornado and “The Blues Man” Ike Turner pinning “King” Shane Williams.
The upcoming card also includes Bronson meeting NWA Main Event star and current NWA Mid-America champion Iggy and The Fabulous Rocker taking on Michael.
Others on the card include Naughty By Nature “Rude,” Wayne, Borne and Gator McAllister.
Opening bell is set for 7:30 p.m.
All matches are sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance, and the card is subject to change without notice.
