4-H, TSC partner to raise funds

Each year, Tractor Supply Co. in Union City partners with the Obion County 4-H program to raise funds in order to provide 4-H programming in the county.
Last year, more than $575 was raised through the Paper Clover campaigns, which are held in the spring and fall of each year.
University of Tennessee Extension agent Una Johnson said Tractor Supply Co. (TSC) has continued to support the 4-H program by donating $680 — to be used to provide transportation to 4-H’ers attending 4-H Camp — and donating gift cards for county public speaking contest winners.
The next Paper Clover campaign will be held May 2-13. Paper Clovers may be purchased for $1 each and 100 percent of the funds raised will be used to provide 4-H programming, according to Mrs. Johnson.
4-H is a community of six million young people across America learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. National 4-H Council is the private sector, non-profit partner of 4-H National Headquarters located at the National Institute for Food and Agriculture (NIFA) within USDA. The 4-H programs are implemented by the 109 Land Grant Universities and the Cooperative Extension System through 3,100 local Extension offices across the country.

Tractor Supply Company operates more than 1,000 stores in 44 states. The company’s stores are focused on supplying the lifestyle needs of recreational farmers and ranchers. The company also serves the maintenance needs of those who enjoy the rural lifestyle, as well as tradesmen and small businesses. Stores are located in towns outlying major metropolitan markets and in rural communities.
