Osment to speak
Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church will welcome the Rev. Mike Osment Sunday. His topic will be “A Heart of Compassion,” based on Mark 6:30-44.
A Boy Scout fund raising luncheon will follow the worship service and will be served in the activities building.
The menu includes spaghetti, tossed salad, cole slaw, garlic bread, homemade desserts and beverages.
The community is invited to attend the 11 a.m. worship service at 631 East Church St. A nursery will be available and services are also broadcast live on WOBT-TV.

F&F Day slated
Right Path Ministries will host Family and Friends Day Sunday at 1 p.m. at the worship site in the community room at Union City Housing  Authority on East Main Street. The Rev. Rozelle Dotstry and the congregation of Bashan Baptist Church in Rives will be special guests.

Revival to begin
Bethel Baptist Church near Troy will be the site for revival services at 7 p.m. each evening Wednesday through March 16.
The Rev. Jimmy Goodman of Dewdrop Church in the Cloverdale community will be the evangelist.
The public is invited to attend.

Special event planned
Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy will host a community-wide Easter Egg-Stravaganza March 31 at noon at the gazebo on the church property. In the event of rain, activities will take place in the congregation’s activities building.
The public is invited to enjoy the event.

Gospel singing set
Blessed Assurance from Tiptonville will be featured at Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God, located at 1341 Marvin Vaught Road near Troy, March 24 at 7 p.m.
The Rev. Tommy Roper and the congregation invite the community to attend. For more information, call 676-5199 or 885-7767.

‘Salad Spread’ planned
PEOC Ministry will host a “Salad Spread” Sunday at 2 p.m. at 2131 Nailling Drive in Union City. All kinds of salads will be on the menu and the community is invited to attend for a good meal and fellowship. The cost will be $5.

To welcome Gideon
Gideon speaker Larry Fowlkes of Dyersburg will be the speaker Sunday at 11 a.m. at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 880 Beech Chapel Road near Union City. Sunday school is at 10 a.m.
At 5 p.m., there will be a showing of “Courageous,” followed by a time of food and fellowship.
Dr. Bobby Williams and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Ramsey seminar slated
Pentecostal Tabernacle, located at 16235 State Route 45S in Water Valley, Ky., will provide the Dave Ramsey Financial Freedom Seminar beginning March 22 at 7 p.m.
The event will continue on Thursday nights for 13 weeks, at a cost of $75 per family.
This cost provides a lifetime membership.
Registration must be complete, with payment of fees, by March 18.

Presentation planned
Trace Creek Baptist Church, located on State Route 131 near Mayfield, Ky., will present “The Promise,” a pageant based on Jesus’ life, March 30 at 7 p.m., March 31 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., April 6 at 7 p.m.,  April 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church’s family life center.
The presentation is a blend of drama and music presented by a cast and crew of more than 200.
It follows the life of Christ from the announcement of His birth to His ascension, with scenes including the nativity, the calling of the disciples, the temptation of Christ, the crucifixion and the ascension, plus many others.
The event is free.

Sportsmen event slated
Sportsmen Night Out tickets are on sale for $10 for the event set for March 29 at Union City Second Baptist Church, located at 831 Everett Blvd. in Union City.
There will be two meal times: 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., with the program to begin at 7.
Tickets are available at Five Seasons Men’s Shop or at First State Bank, both in Union City.

Going ‘social’
As the world of social media grows, members of Union City First Assembly of God want to connect with the people of Union City and surrounding communities through social interactions using Facebook & Twitter, according to a spokesman.
