Gleason threesome
cages War Eagles

Blake Taylor tossed a complete game two-hitter, and both Gabe Lowrance and Thomas Fowler doubled twice to lead Gleason past West Carroll, 10-2, in baseball action at Atwood on Tuesday.
Taylor fanned five and walked five, throwing 66 of his 103 pitches for strikes.
Fowler was 3-for-3 with four runs, while Lowrance scored twice.
Gleason had 10 hits and was further aided by five War Eagle errors.

Montgomery aces
Persimmon No. 9

Dennis Montgomery of Dresden had a hole-in-one at Persimmon Hills Golf Course in Sharon on Tuesday.
Montgomery used an 8-iron on No. 9, a par-3, 138-yard hole.
Kerry Killebrew, Richard Killebrew and Phil Carr witnessed the shot.

5K For Fannies run
slated for Union City

The 2nd annual 5K For Fannies run is scheduled for April 28, beginning 9 a.m. at Union City High School.
The event includes a 5K run and a one-mile run/walk for men and women.
Deadline to enter in advance is April 20. Entry fee for the 5K is $15 in advance and $20 on race day, while the one-mile fee is $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the race. Schools with more than three entries for the 5K can pre-register for $12 or register on race day for $15.
The event begins and ends at Union City High School. T-shirts will go to the first 100 entrants, and refreshments will be provided following the race.
Proceeds will go to the Hometown Walk of Hope.

Trenton set to host
Teapot Trot run/walk

The Northwest Gibson County YMCA will host the 2012 Trenton Teapot Trot on May 3rd.
This year’s event will be a 5K race for both runners and walkers. The race will begin and end at Trenton City Hall. Same day registration begins at 5:15 with the race starting at 6 p.m.
Last year, 92 participants competed in the event, which leads runners through Trenton.
Individuals interested in participating may register at the NW Gibson County YMCA at 110 YMCA Drive in Trenton.
The cost is $15 pre-registration or $20 day of event with proceeds benefiting the NW Gibson County YMCA Scholarship Fund.

Football skill camp
at regional schools

The “Got Hands? University” football training camp will hold offensive skill exposure camps at three West Tennessee schools in the next several weeks.
Henry County High School will host April 27-29, a camp will be held at Lake County May 4-6 and St. Mary’s in Jackson will be a camp site May 18-19.
The camps are primarily designed for players in grades 6-12.
