UTM Kid College includes variety

Children who will be entering kindergarten in 2012 through the fifth grade are invited to learn about the world around them at the University of Tennessee at Martin’s 28th annual Kid College event, set for weekdays June 4-14.
The first classes meet at 9 a.m. and the last class ends at 2:50 p.m.
Children may come and go all day.
Students will be divided into two groups based on grade level and participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities.
The registration fee is $40 per course, with a Kid College T-shirt available for an additional $10. Children may register for up to five courses.
Courses available for the kindergarten through second grade group include Art Adventures, Chemical Reactions, Dinosaur Train, Football Fundamentals, Karate for Kids, Positively Play Dough, Practicing Pet Pro, Basketball/Life Skills, Crafting Like Crazy, Journey to the Stars, Hello Cupcake!, Jr. Space Camp, LEGO Math, Magnificent Made Scientists, Cheerleading, Drawn2Art, Fly Kids Fly Kids, Wild, Wild West and Milk and Cookies.
Courses for third-through fifth-graders include Art Factory, Astronomy Adventures, Baking with Mrs. Baker, Chemical Reactions, CSI for Kids, Dinosaur Train, AmericanGirl Dream Room, Football Fundamentals, Karate for Kids, Practicing Pet Pro, Sr. Space Camp, Art Adventures, Creative Cuties, Hello Cupcake!, LEGO Math, Magnificent Mad Scientists, Oh, Yuck, Basketball/Life Skills, Drawn2Art, Fly Kids Fly Kids, Trash Into Treasure, Dance! Dance! Dance!, In It to Win It, Kids’ Boot Camp, Kids vs. Wild, Milk and Cookies, Amazing Race, Cheerleading, Kids with Cameras, Scrapping with a Paper Bag and Wild, Wild West.
An open house will be held June 14 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for friends and family to view class projects and displays. Demonstrations and refreshments will be available.
