Dunker golf outing
aids Racer athletics

Murray State athletics will host a round of golf and fun at the all new Dunker’s Scramble Golf Tournament.
The event, formerly known as The Racer Classic, will be held Friday at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray.
Dunker’s Scramble provides Racer fans an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of golf with friends while assisting the university’s Department of Athletics.
Proceeds from the tournament directly impacts the athletic department, providing funding for its budget and the ever-increasing demands on an NCAA Division I sports program.
The tournament features a four-person scramble format with team prizes awarded for first place low gross in the men’s and women’s division, plus a first, second, and third place award in a blind draw. All participants will receive a special gift package for registering for the event.
New features to this year’s event include: a women’s division, post-golf BBQ and awards ceremony. Also, non-golfers will have the opportunity to attend the BBQ for a small contribution.
The tournament also features a $5,000 hole-in-one contest and special prizes for a hole-in-one on all Par 3s.
Back by popular demand are the longest drive, closest to the pin and most accurate drive contests.
A putting contest for a grand prize returns as well with the preliminaries taking place before the 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Prices have also been reduced for Dunker’s Scramble. Entry fees now range from $75 for an individual to an all-inclusive corporate package for $400, which includes a hole sponsor sign and eight team mulligans.
Lunch will be provided, starting at 11:30 a.m., with the event concluding with a BBQ and awards presentation at 5:30 p.m.
For more information, call (270) 809-3517.
