To The Editor:
I would like to respond to a recent letter writer and make a few observations of my own. Were any laws broken by Congressman Stephen Fincher and the other Republicans she mentioned? If they were, we’ll hear about it. If I’m not mistaken, the latest high profile politicians to make negative headlines have been liberals with names like Rangel and Edwards. And I don’t recall that Mr. Fincher is bankrolled by any billionaire socialist such as George Soros.
The farm bills were written years ago when the liberals were in control of the Congress. Now that a Republican congressman, who happens to be a farmer, benefits from the laws, they complain.
If California and other high tax states are so wonderful, why are so many of those residents and businesses relocating to states with lower taxes and friendly business incentives.
If I were the letter writer, I would be more concerned about the 15 trillion-dollar deficit our country faces and the unemployment numbers. I would be concerned with keeping our Second Amendment rights, protecting the unborn and our religious freedom. I would be worried about guarding our borders, illegal immigration and acts of terrorism. Oh, but that’s what those mean-spirited Tea Party people are all about. They support less government regulation, a strong national defense and lower taxes. They still believe marriage is between one man and one woman, imagine that.
The letter writer doesn’t seem to mind that the current White House residents have spent more taxpayer money on lavish Hollywood parties and ’round-the-world vacations than any occupants, ever.
The big government, entitlement train is rolling down the track and an amateur, former community organizer is the conductor, along with his left-wing socialist engineers heading for the cliff. On the sidelines cheering are a bunch of liberal supporters with their heads in the sand. Who is going to clean up their mess? Will it be our children and grandchildren?
Never in our nation’s history have we had more government intrusion, more regulations and a higher deficit. We have more people on welfare and food stamps than ever before. Is this what hope and change looks like? Liberal ideas do not grow an economy because they do not promote private sector growth. They burden job creators with more regulations and higher taxes. Liberals are skilled at playing class warfare games. They believe the federal government is the solution, not the problem.
The letter writer boasts about being a liberal. I am equally as proud to be a conservative American who embraces conservative ideas that grow the economy, create jobs and give people a sense of responsibility and self-worth.
