Everett UTM’s latest
on 2012 watch list
UT Martin senior Ben Everett has been named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Watch List for tight ends. He joins quarterback Derek Carr, running back Tevin Barksdale and wide receiver Quentin Sims, who also made their positions respective watch lists.
Everett, from Loudon, played in nine games this past season, during which he caught four passes for 104 yards.
Everett enjoyed his best game of the season against Union College, where he caught two passes for 70 yards, including a 47-yard TD reception.
He also made one catch against Mississippi State for 13 yards.
The Skyhawks open the 2012 season at the Liberty Bowl against host Memphis.
UTM softball hosting
exposure/skills camp
The UT Martin softball program will host an Exposure and Skills Development camp June 12-13 at Bettye Giles Softball Field in Skyhawk Park on campus.
The camp, which runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., is for older softball players from age 14 through graduating high school seniors.
The camp will include a full day of hitting, fielding, base running, etc. The cost of the camp is $125 and campers must bring a sack lunch. The fee includes a camp T-shirt and insurance coverage.

Disc golf clinic
set for youngsters
Martin Parks and Recreation will host a youth disc golf clinic for ages 7-14 June 25-29.
The clnic will be broken into two time periods, 9-10 a.m. for ages 7-10 and 10:15-11:15 a.m. for ages 11-14.
The sessions will be held at the Harrison Road Disc Golf Course. The fee is $15, which includes a disc.
Registration will be held at the Martin Parks and Rec office through June 21.

Skyhawk athletes
set GPA standard
UT Martin athletes earned a record best 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) for the spring 2012 semester. The 3.0 GPA was above the all campus average of 2.71.
More than 130 student-athletes made the spring semester Dean’s List and 177 of the 287 student-athletes made a 3.0 GPA or higher.
