Westview to hold
girls’ hoop camp

The Westview Lady Chargers girls’ basketball individual camp is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the high school.
The camp is open to girls in grades 1-8 and will run 8 a.m.-noon.
The daily schedule for campers will include stretching, warm-ups and mass teaching followed by stations in fundamentals of ball-handling, passing/catching, shooting and jump shots, defense and rebounding, and concluding with individual competitions in defensive slides, 1-on-1 and dribbling.
Team competitions will close each day.
All instruction will be given by the Lady Chargers’ coaching staff as well as current and former Westview players.
The cost is $45 per camper, $40 for siblings.
Checks should be made payable to Westview Basketball Camp.

Gleason Clinic offers
hunter safety course

The Gleason Clinic will host a hunter safety course in late July and early August.
Those who sign up for the course must attend all five classes — July 30 and 31, Aug. 2, 6 and 7.
Class begins at 6 p.m. each day class is open to people ages 9 and up.

Bethel hosting
girls’ team camp

Bethel women’s basketball head coach Chris Nelson and his staff welcomed 28 teams to the Bethel University girls’ team camp this week.
Squads from Tenn-essee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Alabama will play at Baker Fieldhouse as well as at McKenzie High School and McKenzie Junior High.
Tennessee teams are: Bradford, Rossview, South Fulton, Liberty, Clarksburg, Adamsville, Dyer County, TCA, USJ, Ripley, Big Sandy, Crockett County, White Station, Madison Aca-demic, Huntingdon, McKenzie, Lake County, Lexington, South Side, Dresden, Dickson County, and Milan.
Other schools participating are: Naylor (Mo.), Christian County Calloway County and Edmonson in Kentucky, and Pleasant Grove (Ala.).
