MCKENNEY SPEAKS — Gen. Otho French Strahl Camp 176, Sons of Confederate Veterans, met recently in the First United Methodist Church fellowship building due to the larger crowd expected. The group normally meets at the Obion County Museum. Lt. Commander John Abernathy led the pledge to the American flag and the salute to the Confederate flag. Dr. Charles Blair had the opening prayer. Lt. Col. Tom McKenney (standing), retired Marine officer and the author of “Jack Hinson’s One Man War,” gave a very interesting overview of his book for the 60 members and guests present. An abbreviated business session followed, with the adjutant giving a current financial report. The meeting ended with McKenney signing books.
