TSSAA pushes back
classification meeting

The TSSAA Board of Control meeting to decide football classification beginning next year has been pushed back to July 16.
The session was originally scheduled four days earlier but a scheduling conflict with a pair of board members and another issue with a teaching conference reportedly necessitated the change.
The National Federation of State High School Associations will also hold meetings in Nashville on July 11.
The Board of Control is expected to make its recommendation to Executive Director Bernard Childress following the meeting on whether to keep the current football set-up that has three classes for the regular season before being divided into six for the playoffs, or returning to a five-class alignment that was in place from 1992-2008.
Thought a four-class system has been discussed for all sports, it is expected that every sport other than football will remain in its current three-class alignment.

Railroaders run up
9th straight win

The Fulton Railroaders continued their torrid streak and climb in the Ohio Valley League standings with their ninth consecutive win Monday, a 10-8 victory over first-place Hopkinsville.
The Roalroaders are 14-11 and just 21⁄2 games behind the Hoppers in second place after starting the year at 5-11.
Catcher Billy O’Connor drove in four runs with a pair of doubles for Fulton Monday night, while Rob Hogenkamp went 2-for-3 with four runs scored.
