Generals to honor
Lady Vols’ Summitt

The Jackson Generals will host Pat Summitt Appreciation Night on Friday.
The night will be devoted to honoring legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach and raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. A tribute to Pat will precede the game, which will start at 7:05 p.m.
The Generals will wear special “Lady Vol Orange” jerseys during their game Friday night against the Mississippi Braves. The jerseys will be auctioned that night with the proceeds benefitting the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund.
The Pat Summitt Foundation makes grants to nonprofits that provide education and awareness of Alzheimer’s, as well support services to patients, their families and caregivers. The Foundation also supports research to help treat, prevent, cure, and ultimately eradicate the Alzheimer’s disease.
Pringles Park will also host an appearance by Atlanta Braves legend Dale Murphy on Friday night as well as a High-Tech Special Effects Classic TV-themed Fireworks show presented by MobileNation.
Tickets for Generals home games can be purchased at the Generals Box Office, online at www.jacksongeneralsbaseball.com or by calling (731) 988-5299.

Bronson bombs
in squared circle

A 2-on-1 match, a Bombing raid and an interference-aided win.
Another night of NWA/WOWF wrestling took place Saturday night in downtown Union City.
In what was supposed to be a tag-team match, Joseph Bourne had to take on the EMTs and fought hard only to lose.
Bull Bronson successfully defended his NWA Mid-South heavyweight title by defeating Tornado but then kept dishing out Bull Bombs on Tornado until The Fabulous Rocker hit Bronson with a chair to end the assault.
“The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony got some outside interference from Jeremy Moore to pin “The Trendsetter” Jon Michael.
Other matches saw Moore defeat Derrick King and Rocker beat Chad Williams.
This week’s main event will feature an NWA mid-South title match between Bronson and Rocker.
