A Union City man was taken into custody over the weekend after he was stopped by members of the Martin Police Department for apparently driving in the wrong lane. According to an incident report, officers stopped a yellow Ford Mustang driven by 22-year-old Lavan Mosley of Union City around 3:30 Sunday morning when they noticed his vehicle in the wrong lane of travel on Gardner Hyndsver Road and again on Skyhawk Parkway just north of McDonald’s. According to the report, Mosley admitted to drinking one beer. MPD’s Tim Dolack conducted a field sobriety test and the results led the officer to believe it was unsafe for Mosley to operate a motor vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded Springfield armory .45 caliber handgun. A BAC test revealed Mosley apparently had a .165 blood alcohol level. He faces a charge of possession of a handgun while under the influence and DUI 1st offense.
