CornFest pageants set

The CornFest pageants, featuring beauties from little girls to young adults, will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Union City. For information, call Kelly Key at 885-2599.
The pageants are the second CornFest family fun event for 2012, with today’s luncheon, fashion show and silent auction getting things started.
Coming up Wednesday will be the Pride of Obion County luncheon honoring Robert Kirkland.
Chalk art on Thursday and a full day of fun in the park, including the free Tyson Free Family Feed on Sept. 15, are on tap for the coming week.
The community is invited to enjoy all these events, a spokesman said.
