Rebels to honor
football alumni

Obion Central will celebrate Football Alumni Night Friday before the Rebels take on Gibson County.
Past OCCHS football players are encouraged to attend a reception, starting at 5:30 in the East endzone of the football field. Refreshments will be served and fieldhouse tours will begin at 6:15.
Personal invitations and free admission to the event can be secured by calling (731) 676-1357. The invitation must be presented for free admission.

Cougars score often
to rout Union City

Hillcrest scored four times in the first, fourth and fifth innings and pounded out 17 hits in a 12-1 rout of Union City in middle school softball action Tuesday.
Mollie Johnson, Macy Cox and Lauren Ivy each had three hits and two runs batted in for the winning Lady Cougars. Audrey Myers had two hits and two RBIs, McClain Bell had a pair of base knocks and McKinleigh Bell had two hits and drove in a run.
Cox was credited with the pitching victory after fanning nine and walking two.
For UC, Brooklyn Cobb and Alivia Bishop each singled and Molly Beth Blackwell reached base via a walk.
Taylor Crittendon had four strikeouts and seven other putouts.

D’burg goal total
too much for SF

South Fulton was blanked by visiting Dyersburg 7-0 Tuesday evening in prep soccer.
The Devilettes (4-2) trailed 3-0 at halftime.
Taleeah Cross was credited with 26 saves despite the loss.

OC girls, Williamson
rule H’don meet

Obion Central and Union City took their running skills to Huntingdon for the first time.
The results were pretty much the same as everywhere else they go.
Central’s girls and Union City’s Daniel Williamson were winners in the inaugural Huntingdon High School Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday. OC’s boys finished third.
The Lady Rebels had three runners to medal as Rachel Jones was second, Nichole Whitson finished fourth and Tia Parks placed eighth overall.
Williamson, meanwhile, was nearly a minute faster than his closest competition with a time of 19:04.
Coleman Dunn was 14th to medal for the Rebel boys.

Halls blanks UC
in volleyball play

Union City dropped its seventh volleyball match of the season with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-14) loss at Halls on Tuesday.
The Lady Tornadoes had a shot to win their first set of the season by leading most of the way in the second game before the Lady Tigers rallied late.
Alexis Coleman had three aces, while both Coleman and Breanna Beard led UC with three kills each.
Raven Fair and Sadie Hollis each had two kills, while Hollis led the team in passes with 20. Brittany Parker added 19 passes.
UC lost the junior varsity match 2-0 (25-8, 25-8).
D’Leshae Olds had an ace, while both Olds and Aaliyah Daniels had three kills each. Beard and Calyx Clemons had two kills.
Union City falls to 0-7 on the season and will host Fulton City (13-2) on Thursday.
