Vehicles, house struck

Posted: Friday, September 21, 2012 4:00 pm

A Union City woman was charged after allegedly leaving the scene of an early-morning accident in which vehicles, a house and mailboxes were struck.
Adrienne R. Kemp, 21, of 402 North Poplar St., Kenton, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, no registration and failure to maintain control in connection with a crash that occurred about 2:30 a.m. Thursday on Pleasant Valley Avenue at Stone Street, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police said Ms. Kemp was northbound on Pleasant Valley Avenue in a 2003 Nissan Sentra and veered to the left, going up on the curb and then onto grass, striking a mailbox in a yard at 1459 Pleasant Valley Ave. The vehicle continued on northward and veered back onto the road, then kept going and made a wide turn into the yard at 1439 Pleasant Valley Avenue, just to the left of the roadway.
The vehicle struck a mailbox at 1439 Pleasant Valley Ave., and kept straight in the drive, striking the left rear of a parked 2010 Toyota owned by resident Tracy Bruff and pushing it into a parked 2004 Jeep Wrangler also owned by Bruff — with the Jeep then pushed into the house.
Ms. Kemp apparently kept going south through the yards, sideswiping a tree while heading back to the road. The car then apparently turned left onto Stone Street and pulled into the parking lot of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, where the driver left the vehicle, according to the report.
The vehicle owner was later located and found to be the driver, police said.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
