Abundant Life Assembly of God – Sharon

Posted: Thursday, September 27, 2012 6:00 pm
By: By Mary M Jones

Bro. Bobby Peal began our service singing “Just a Little Talk With Jesus.”

Melba Carson taught the adult Sunday school lesson from Hebrews 9:15 which tells us the superiority of the new covenant is based on the person and work of Jesus Christ.

We sang “Happy Birthday” to Shirley Bynum and Ashlyn Hagye, who was surprised with cupcakes and soda in her Sunday school class in honor of her birthday last week.

Hunter and Ashylyn Hagye and Mason Petty helped lead “Glory Glory” and “He's a Big God,” with Mason doing the hand motions for the last song. Mary led “Bring Your Vessels” and “He Abides.” Faye Peal sang “There's Still Time For A Miracle.” Patsy Baker sang “The Shepherd of My Valley.” Harvey Dildine sang “Love Grew Where the Blood Fell.”

Bro. Bobby took his message from 1 Peter 1:24-25, and titled it “Are You Looking for Something Everlasting?” The only way we can enter heaven is by the way the Bible tells us. God's gift to us is the very breath we breathe and our salvation is our everlasting life which Jesus gave by shedding of his blood on the cross – Palms 119:151 and Hebrews 4:12.

Bro. Bobby opened our evening service singing “They That Wait Upon the Lord.” Mary led “We Shall See the King,” “When We All Get to Heaven” and “Oh I Want to See Him.” Patsy Baker sang “Thank You Lord for Your Blessings on Me.” Mary sang “I Know a Man Who Can.”

Bro. Bobby turned to Luke 19:28. Jesus claimed no earthly goods or possessions. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, who did not feel worthy to do this, but Jesus assured him he was fulfilling the prophecy. Christ learned obedience through the things He suffered.

We again took prayer requests and formed a circle at the altar holding hands and agreeing in prayer together in one accord.
