R’mont rally trumps Greenfield’s | R’mont rally trumps Greenfield’s
Kari O’Steen drove in Laura King with the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth to lift Ridgemont to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Greenfield in middle school softball Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Mustangs scored twice in their final at-bat to claim the win after G’field had tallied two times in the top of the sixth to take a one-run lead.
In other middle school diamond results from Tuesday reported to The Messenger, South Fulton blanked Dresden 5-0, Crockett County edged Hillcrest 7-6 and Martin whipped Lake Road 14-0.
The following are highlights of those games.

Carly Bramlett went 3-for-3 as the Lady Mustangs’ top offensive performer, while McClay Ferrell, Macy Muirhead and Bethan Gardner all added singles to the winning cause.
Winning hurler Marissa French helped herself with a triple.
French struck out one on her way to the pitching triumph.
Ridgemont will host South Fulton Thursday at 4:15.
