Center to have booth

The newly-organized Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center will have a booth at the Banana Festival this weekend in downtown Fulton.
The booth — which will serve as the center’s introduction to the community — will be in operation 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center will open soon in a temporary location at House of Prayer Family Center on State Line in South Fulton.
In the beginning, the center will serve as a clinic offering basic medical screenings to the working uninsured who reside in the South Fulton and Fulton zip code areas.
With time, the center’s board of directors and officers hope to broaden the scope of medical care provided and increase the number of hours of operation so the working uninsured in the community can receive quality, ongoing primary medical care, a spokesman said.
Many area churches have joined forces to promote the community service endeavor.
The center will be a non-profit organization staffed primarily by volunteers; therefore, a variety of skills and abilities ranging from medical expertise to office management abilities to carpentry skills and lawn care will be needed.

The center will not receive government funding and monetary donations will be welcomed.
