Posted: Wednesday, October 3, 2012 12:00 pm

Junior Hannah McGowen netted a pair of goals in the second half to lead UT Martin to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Murray State Sunday at Skyhawk Field. The Skyhawks are now 5-4-3 this season and are unbeaten in their last six matches.
The pair of goals was also the first two of the season for the Murfreesboro native, who helped UT Martin erase a 1-0 halftime deficit with strikes in the 56th and 74th minutes.
Overall, the UT Martin offense outshot Murray State by a 30-14 margin, including 17 shots in the second half alone. McGowen’s seven shots — including four on goal — led the Skyhawks.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Sarah Tompkins made her season debut for UT Martin, making eight saves in all 90 minutes in goal. Five of Tompkins’ saves came after McGowen’s second goal, helping the Skyhawks preserve their 2-1 lead.
