The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Emily Janine Newman and Brett Alan Wolfe, both of San Antonio, Texas, are being announced today..
The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. Robert and Jeanie Nanney of Dresden and Bob Newman of Huntingdon. She is the granddaughter of the late Rev. Robert and Evelyn Newman and the late Wilbert and Helen Segebarth. She is the step-granddaughter of Doris Nanney of Dresden.
Miss Newman is a 1997 graduate of Huntingdon High School. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
She joined the U.S. Air Force in 2002 as a flight nurse and served active duty until April 2012.
During that time, she was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss., Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio and most recently at Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Japan. She was deployed in 2004 to Ramstein AFB in Germany and to Afghanistan in 2010.
In April 2012, Miss Newman returned from Japan, transferred to Reserve Command and now serves in the 433rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron in San Antonio, Texas. She also is employed as a registered nurse at Global Rehab Hospital in San Antonio.
The groom-elect is the son of Barry and Rita Wolfe of Reynoldsburg, OH. His grandparents are the late Richard D. Elanor and Nellie Wolfe, Janice Edwards of Johnstown, Ohio, and the late Robert Edwards.
Wolfe is a 1995 graduate of Reynoldsburg High School. He graduated in 2000 from Hiram College in Ohio with a bachelor of arts degree in history and a certification in secondary education.
He taught history at Reynoldsburg High School from 2000-01 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2002, where he remains on active duty. He has been stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas and most recently, Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, where he is an EMT instructor and licensed paramedic. He has been deployed to Al Udeid Air Base and Balad Air Base in Iraq.
The couple will exchange vows Oct. 13 at First Baptist Church in Huntingdon. Music will begin at 3:30 p.m.
A reception will be held following the ceremony at Hampton Inn Convention Center in  Paris.
The couple will reside in San Antonio.  Published in The WCP 10.2.12
