Shooting investigated

An early-morning shooting in Weakley County remains under investigation today.
The Weakley County Sheriff’s Department and ambulance personnel responded about 2:30 a.m. today to 1040 Corinth Road in rural Weakley County after a woman made a 911 call reporting her husband had been shot.
The victim, whose name had not yet been released this morning, was transported to Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin and then transferred to a Nashville hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds, according to Weakley County Sheriff’s Department investigator Randall McGowan.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department and no additional details were being released at press time today.
