A Lake County man has been indicted for vehicular homicide in connection with a January wreck which left three people dead in Obion County.
Timothy Clark Naifeh was indicted this week by an Obion County grand jury for six counts of vehicular homicide, according to an indictment list released Wednesday afternoon.
The charges stem from a three-vehicle accident that occurred Jan. 7 on Highway 21 near Hornbeak. Three people — Jack L. Bell, 81, and his wife, Sue E. Bell, 81, of Kenton and their son, 51-year-old David C. Bell of Forsyth, Ga. — died as a result of the crash.
After the wreck, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported David Bell was driving west on Highway 21 in a 2004 Buick Regal LS about 4:40 p.m. when an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet pickup driven by Naifeh, 52, apparently crossed the center line, striking the Bell vehicle on the left front and going down the full length of the car before then colliding head-on with a westbound 2004 Ford pickup driven by Constance Kelly Fisher, 40, of Obion.
David Bell and his mother were both pronounced dead at the scene, while Jack Bell and Naifeh, also seriously injured, were both airlifted to Regional Medical Center in Memphis for treatment of injuries. Jack Bell died there a few days later.
A third passenger in the Bell vehicle, 15-year-old Jonathan Bell of Forsyth, identified as David Bell’s son and the elder Bells’ grandson, as well as Ms. Fisher and her passenger, 16-year-old Dillon Fisher of Obion, were not injured, according to the THP report.
Although the accident involved three deaths, Naifeh was indicted for six counts of vehicular homicide because there are two types of vehicular homicide, according to Assistant District Attorney Jim Cannon. He explained one type involves alleged driving under the influence and the other involves reckless driving, so an indictment for both types offers a jury a choice when rendering its verdict.
The grand jury convened Monday for its October term and heard evidence in a number of cases to determine if charges should be levied by indictment. The indictments for this term include a number of sex-related offenses and several drug-related charges.
Those indicted will be arraigned Monday at 9 a.m. in Obion County Circuit Court, according to Circuit Court Clerk Harry Johnson.

The list of indictments released Wednesday by Johnson’s office also includes:
• Ralph Henry Bing, Barbie Hudson Sharp, Joseph Ellis Ford and Brian Lee Willis — criminal conspiracy to commit fraudulently obtaining a controlled substance, forgery, fraudulent obtaining of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.

• Brannon Blake Black — rape of a child (two counts).
• Brannon Blake Black — rape of a child and incest.

• Angela Dawn Boshers and Charles Kenneth Boshers — theft, false reports and false or fraudulent insurance claim.
• Brian Christopher Byers and Antonio Terrell Stephens — possession of a controlled substance with intent.
• Michael Dee Craddock II and Billy Joe Craig — aggravated burglary and theft.
• Jeffrey Mitchell Clanton — driving under the influence and priors.
• Corey Arnaz Coleman — aggravated burglary, theft, aggravated burglary, aggravated burglary, theft and arson.

• Stacy Renee Flowers — theft.
• Terry Gene Gooch — aggravated assault (two counts) and unlawful possession of a weapon.
• Billy Joe Harris — perjury on sexual offender/violent sexual offender TBI registration form (four counts).
• Robert Earl Hogg — motor vehicle habitual offender act violation and evading arrest.
• Randall Lloyd Holt — rape, rape, aggravated statutory rape, aggravated statutory rape and criminal impersonation.
• James Orlando Hubbard III and Antonio Terrell Stephens — possession of a controlled substance with intent (two counts) (both); tampering with evidence (Stephens only); contraband in a penal institution (two counts) (Hubbard only).
• Maria Nicole Krajecki and Deanna Sue Powers — initiation of process to manufacturing meth, manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and promotion of meth manufacturing (both); tampering with evidence (Krajecki only).
• Charles Andrew Langley Jr. — especially aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, assault and aggravated assault (two counts).
The charges against Langley, 18, stem from an Aug. 18 incident in which 18-year-old Rachel Reeves of Martin was seriously injured in an assault near the Obion County Fairgrounds.
• Anica James Markle — aggravated burglary, theft and possession of burglary tools.
• Calvin Dean Martin and Mitzi Renee Martin — aggravated burglary and theft (Calvin Martin only); theft (Mitzi Martin only).
• Sara Kathryn Oliver, Ana Caren Purvis and Lakari Raphael Stunson — theft and theft.
• Justin Blake Paschall and Noble Nelson Tolley Jr. — burglary and theft.
• Chad Michael Piatt — motor vehicle habitual offender act violation, aggravated assault, assault and domestic assault.

The charges against Rasberry, 23, are in connection with an Aug. 30 incident in which two Union City police officers were allegedly assaulted while responding to a call on Nash Street. The two officers both received medical treatment for their injuries.
