Delphian Review Club meets

Posted: Wednesday, October 24, 2012 8:02 pm

The Delphian Review Club recently met at the home of Mrs. Ron Bloebaum.
The meeting was called to order by president Mrs. Tommy Chrisp. The roll call and minutes were read by secretary Mrs. Bill Simrell.
The financial report was given by treasurer Mrs. Thel Tavlor. Chaplain Mrs. Billy Jack Cranford  gave the thought for the day from “Loving Thoughts” by Helen Steiner Rice.
The ladies enjoyed a book review, entitled “Molikai,” presented by Mrs. Bloebaum. Molikai is an island in Hawaii. The author uses a fictional young girl, Rachel, to describe her life from age 6, living in this settlement with other Leprosy patients. As one character said, “How we choose to live with pain, or injustice, or death is the true measure of divine within us.”
After a brief business meeting, the group enjoyed pumpkin squares topped with ice cream served by Mrs. Taylor.
