Hart announces re-election bid

Jimmie C. Hart has announced his bid for re-election as mayor of the Town of Troy.
A life-long resident of Troy, Hart has served as the town’s mayor since 1985. He had been on the board for the 10 previous years.
“I have served on the board and as mayor of Troy for many years. I am officially announcing my candidacy for another term. During my tenure, we have been able to make many positive changes. We are committed to serve the citizens of Troy in a way that they will be proud of,” he said.
Hart is married to Peggy Hart. He has four children: Mitzi Hall of Olive Branch, Miss., Paul Hart of Dyersburg, Jody Hart of Brownsville and David Hart of Troy. He has six grandchildren.
He is a member of the Troy Fire Department, Troy United Methodist Church and Troy Western Sun Lodge No. 88 Free and Accepted Masons. He has completed Level II of the Elected Officials Academy.
“My commitment to my community is the driving force in my decision to seek another term. We must continue to work and encourage our merchants and encourage the vision we have for the future. I appreciate the support and trust you have placed in me. I seek your vote on Nov. 6,” Hart said.
