| Jowers elected to lead TCCA |

Obion County commissioner Danny Jowers has been elected 2012-13 president of the Tennessee County Commissioners Association.
The association represents over 1,652 county commissioners from across the state.
Jowers was elected at the fall conference of the Tennessee County Services Association in Memphis last month.
During his term, he will also serve on the executive committee of the Ten-nessee County Services Association, the purpose of which is to represent the 95 counties of the state.
Jowers is currently serving his third term on the Obion County Commission and is a member of the commission’s budget committee. He served as chairman of the budget committee for eight years.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from the University of Tennessee at Martin and currently works as director of Obion County Emergency Management, a position he has held since 2009.
In addition to his experience in local government and agriculture, Jowers also has been involved in law enforcement in Florida and has some background in business. He served as a Kenton alderman from 1995 to 2000.
The Tennessee County Commissioners Association (TCCA) was created in 1969 to promote efficiency in county governments through their legislative bodies. TCCA is an affiliate of the Tennessee County Services Association, sharing office space with TCSA and the Tennessee County Highway Officials Association.
