The residents had a wonderful Halloween at the facility.  We started off with the pumpkin launch.  Bobby Bynum was the first-place winner with Mag Yeargin as runner-up.
The Relay for Life team sponsored a fright night party for the residents and family members on Tuesday night.  All donations made that night will go to Relay for Life.  The night was filled with music, dancing, games and tons of fun.  Many of the employees and residents participated in our costume contest.  The residents winners were: Barry Flowers, first; Dorothy Larson, second; and tying for third was Jane McKnight and Kammye Callison.
The employee winners were: Stacey Blackburn, first; Marie Chappell, second;  and Katie Hopper, third.
Congratulations to all our winners and a huge thank you for all who participated and helped the residents participate.
A Halloween party was held on Wednesday afternoon for the residents.  Chili dogs, chips, cupcakes, witch hat cookies, and soft drinks were served during the party.
Halloween night lots of little ghosts and goblins visited the facility for trick-or-treating.  Many of the residents were manned with candy and enjoyed each and every one of our visitors.  It was a wonderful holiday.
We are so grateful to have such kind families and employees providing cakes for the cake walks and concession foods.  Many gave donations of money and time to the different functions.
Lisa Laderman donated many, many cakes and cupcakes for our Fright night party.
Lorrie Edwards made precious witch hat cookies for the residents Halloween party.
Thank you all for being generous in so many different ways.
This week’s cover card winners were Leola Rawls, Lucille Prince, Bonnie Carney, Annie Cantrell, Mildred Turner and Geneva Foster.
These lucky winners covered their entire cards first and received $1.
For straight line Bingo, each of the participants received fifty cents.
We play until everyone leaves a winner.  We appreciate everyone’s help during our Bingo games to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to play.
The November Resident council meeting was held on Thursday morning.  There were 13 residents and 7 approved employees in attendance.
The residents discuss upcoming events, preferences, complaints and concerns.  Department heads are present to answer any questions they might have.  We encourage all our residents to attend the meeting and have their voices heard.
Joyce Gatewood was the winner of a deluxe chocolate cake during the cake walk.  She was so kind and decided to share it with the residents during Friday’s social hour.
We provided chocolate chip ice cream to be served beside the cake.  It was delicious and the residents were so grateful of her kindness.
The residents also enjoyed birthday cake on Tuesday afternoon for the facility-wide birthday party.  We always enjoy helping our birthday goers celebrate.
Macedonia Church of Christ and Dresden First Baptist Church conducted our Sunday morning worship services.
These congregations are so kind to provide these services each week for our residents.
We appreciate you so much.
