MBA program at UTM wins multiple awards

The University of Tennessee at Martin’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program has been ranked a top 20 “Best Buy” by GetEducated.com and placed on the website’s 2012 list of Best Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programs.
The program also received recognition from The Princeton Review.
A “Best Buy” designation indicates the UT Martin program has been independently reviewed and found to offer a high-quality distance MBA education to online learning students at a cost rate well below the national average.
The top-20 ranking is based on a comprehensive review of 139 Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-accredited online programs across the nation. The review is unsolicited by featured programs, making inclusion an even higher honor.
This award applies specifically to the online MBA program, which provides busy business professionals an opportunity to fit classes into their personal schedules. The program, which focuses on banking and financial services, offers 35 course hours over 20 months.
Those seeking to enroll should hold a four-year bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of two years professional work experience. Each class cohort can accommodate 22 students.
The Princeton Review has also named UT Martin an outstanding business school and featured both the online and traditional MBA programs in the 2013 edition of its annual guidebook, “The Best 296 Business Schools.” In UT Martin’s profile, editors describe the school as “a friendly, flexible and low-key place to get a quality business education.”
Both awards follow an announcement in December 2011 that the program had been ranked in the top-30 Rising Star MBA Programs by findyourmba.com.
“We are very pleased to maintain our standing among The Princeton Review’s best AACSB-accredited MBA programs in the world, and pleased with our inclusion as a Top 20 Best Online MBA AACSB by GetEducated.com,” said Dr. Kevin Hammond, coordinator of the MBA program. “These rankings reflect the outstanding work of the graduate faculty in providing a high-quality MBA at an affordable price.”
