4 indicted after murder at nightclub
A Union City man is among four men indicted in connection with a deadly nightclub shooting in Henry County.
Charles Vonjay Liphford, 23, of Union City was indicted Monday by a Henry County grand jury on a charge of possession of a handgun while under the influence.
Also indicted for first-degree murder were Tevin Dominique “Jay” Lumpkin, 20, of Milan; Cody Harmon, 23, of Lexington; and Jiles Ray Yarbrough, 21, of Huntingdon.
Authorities said the charges against the four stem from the Aug. 25 shooting death of Eric Kinley, 42, of Paris at Fahrenheit 101 on Highway 79, southwest of Paris in Henry County.
Harmon and Yarbrough were also indicted on lesser charges of aggravated assault in connection with the incident.
Lumpkin and Liphford were arrested in Norfolk, Va., following a multi-state search for the shooting suspects and they waived their right to fight extradition back to Tennessee, authorities reported after the incident.
The four men had initially made appearances in Henry County General Sessions Court in September and October on the various charges levied against them.
A total of 52 people were indicted during Monday’s session of the Henry County grand jury, The Paris Post-Intelligencer reported Wednesday.
