Scarborough benefit set

Posted: Friday, November 9, 2012 4:00 pm

The Messenger, November 9, 2012
A benefit event for the family of the late David Scarborough has been planned for Nov. 16 from 6-11 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post on North Clover Street in Union City.
The event will feature the band Avonlea of Union City. Tickets will be available at the door for $6 per person and $10 per couple. No advance tickets will be sold. Children ages 13 and younger will be admitted free.
An organizer of the benefit said it will be a family event and encouraged parents to bring their children.
There will be a raffle and an auction as part of the benefit, and special T-shirts will be available.
Organizers are still soliciting donations for the benefit. A special account has been set up at Reelfoot Bank.
For more information or to make a donation, call (731) 446-7580.
Scarborough died early Nov. 1 as the result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident late Oct. 31 in Weakley County.
