The facility was proud to honor all who served on Thursday afternoon.  A ceremony was held in celebration of our heroes.  Each veteran was presented with a certificate and an open floor for a personal speech.  It was a moving time and we are honored to have such remarkable men present in our facility.  Thank you all for the service you made to our country for our freedom.
This week’s cover card winners were Bonnie Carney, Mag Yeargin, Lucille Prince, Annie Cantrell, Dorothy Larson and Dorothy Vitalo. 
Each of these ladies received one dollar for completing their entire cards before the rest. 
At one-line Bingo, we play until everyone is a winner.  This week’s prize was a selection from our prize bin.  It was filled with snack cakes, puddings, trail mixes, chips and much more. 
The residents gathered for a round of the “Price is Right” on Monday evening.  A group of items are passed around and everyone takes turns guessing what the actual price is. 
The ones who guess the closest win the items.  The winners were Mary Cantrell, Ray Crowell, Sue Bailey and Vivian Edwards.  The residents were also able to win lots of goodies at our country store on Wednesday.  The tables are filled with tons of items and each costing one play dollar.  The residents select envelopes as they enter and then spend the money inside on the merchandise. 
The sports challenges have returned to their normal routine, but the competition has been fierce.  The winner of ladder golf was Ray Crowell with 50 points.  Coming in second was Dorothy Larson with 37 points.  Ray was also the winner of beanbag toss with 470 points.  It was close competition with his runner-up Bobby Bynum who scored 460 points.  Barry Flowers was the kingpin at miniature bowling. 
His second-place finisher was Linda Turner, who was only three pins behind.  Bobby Bynum was the champion of the giant tic-tac-toss game with Mag Yeargin finishing right behind him.
The residents received a big treat Friday morning.  They were served hot fresh pancakes straight off the griddle for a pancake breakfast held in the activity room.  Those cooking and serving were Stacey Blackburn, Marcy Hopper, Beth McDaniel, Amanda Stout and Brittany Rich.  The Dietary Department prepared the bacon and sausage.  We are so thankful for those who helped bring this special treat to the residents and those who got them up and ready for the event.
Saturday, members from the Greenfield Junior High Beta Club visited the residents. 
They played the morning game with them and provided goodie bags for the winners of the game. 
They also passed out snacks, read to the residents and visited them in their rooms.  We are so thankful that you chose our facility and we welcome you back any time. 
Bible Union Baptist Church was with the residents on Wednesday evening. 
Macedonia Church of Christ and Dresden First Baptist Church provided the Sunday morning services. 
We are so grateful for each of these groups for providing such wonderful church programs.  It means so much to the residents. 
The facility will be hosting an Open House on Sunday.  Everyone is  invited to this annual event. We would love to have you with us that afternoon.
