Abundant Life Assemblay of God - Sharon

Posted: Thursday, November 15, 2012 6:01 pm
By: By Mary M Jones

Bro. Bobby Peal opened our service by singing “Standing on the Promises.”

Edna Johle taught adult Sunday school from Exodus 15:11. God is holy, just and truthful.

Mary led “America” and “America the Beautiful” in honor of Veterans Day. Bro. Bobby led Someday.” Patsy Baker sang “I Want the People To See Jesus in Me.” Melba Carson and Mary harmonized to “The Only Real Peace.” Harvey Dildine sang “In the Morning Light.”

Bro. Bobby announced we would have no evening service Nov. 18 so that we can support the community service being held at the Baptist church in Sharon at 6 p.m.

Bro. Bobby took his message from 2 Corinthians 11:21 and titled "Strength and Witness.” Everyone has to die and meet judgment. Paul taught Timothy to preach the truth and not false teachings. Sometimes God has trials and tribulations put in our way, but his strength and grace is sufficient to lift us up out of our despair. It is not a time to give up but a time to look up to Jesus for our redemption draws near.

Mary led “All Hail King Jesus,” “I Feel Like Traveling On” and “Blessed Assurance” with appreciation to Bro. Harvey for playing the piano in Melba's absence. Patsy Baker sang “Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me.” Edna Johle sang “Country Girl.” Mary sang “Surely the Presence of the Lord.” Bro. Lainhart sang “What A Day That Will Be.”

Bro. Bobby selected John 1:6-12. Everything that happens is not God's will, for if it was it would be a perfect world. Everyone is an example to someone, young or old.

We again formed a prayer circle at the altar holding hands and agreeing in one accord for the needs.

Our ladies will meet at the fellowship hall Saturday at 12:30 p.m. for their monthly meeting.
