Hornbeak tree returned

The Town of Hornbeak’s Christmas tree is back.
The decorated tree in front of Hornbeak City Hall, just off West Main Street on the Hornbeak Bestway store parking lot island, was stolen sometime Sunday night and the holiday decorations that had been around the tree were vandalized.
Hornbeak Mayor Dennis Dozier said Tuesday afternoon the tree had been recovered and was “being put back up right now.”
He said the Hornbeak Police Department and Obion County Sheriff’s Department found the tree, but he was not at liberty to disclose other details about the circumstances Tuesday when he spoke with The Messenger.
