Choir to sing
The choir of Union City First United Methodist Church will present “Behold the Star” Sunday at 10:50 a.m. at the church, located at 420 East Main St. John Easley is choir director. Delana Easley is pianist. The community is invited to attend, according to the pastor, the Rev. Stan Waldon.

Special service planned
Bells Chapel CME Church, located at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton, will host a candle light service Sunday at 3 p.m. The Rev. Benjamin Lewis, pastor of Phillips Chapel CME Church in Elkton, Ky., will be the guest speaker.
The Rev. Claudette Snorton and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Christmas program set
Woodland Mills First Baptist Church’s choir will present its Christmas music program Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church on Jones Street.
The program is under the direction of minister of music Kevin Whitter and will feature several musical selections, narration and one song which includes children.
A fellowship time will be held afterward in the church’s activities building.
Pastor is the Rev. Rick Burton.

Youth/children to sing
The youth and adult choirs of Calvary Baptist Church, located at 2250 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City, will present “Hope of the Broken World” Sunday morning beginning at 10:30. The musical, written by Dave Clark and David T. Clydesdale, is an uplifting message in song that is a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas and the hope that one can have in a living Savior, Jesus Christ. The musical is under the direction of Luke Parker, Calvary’s minister of music. Everyone is invited to attend, according to the pastor, the Rev. Melvin Poe.
Musical drama planned
Mount Olive Baptist Church, in the Crystal Community just west of Union City, will present “Hope’s Diner,” a musical drama written by Phillip D. Smith and produced by special arrangement with Eldridge Publishing Co. Sunday at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. Renee Carr will be directing the Christmas program which is set on a snowy Christmas Eve at a lonely roadside diner, where God brings the right people together at the right time for some life-changing events to occur in a way that only God could bring about.
These unforgettable characters will leave you with a renewed sense of hope this Christmas,” a spokesman said.
Refreshments will be served in the family life center following the program. 
The Rev. Steve Carr and the Mount Olive Baptist Church family invite everyone to come and be blessed by this special Christmas presentation.  Call 885-3456 for more information. To get to the church, go out Highway 22 West from Union City and take the first right past Preuett’s Quik Mart, which is Crystal Road. Go two miles and the church is located on the left side of the road.
 To present
special music
The Mt. Zion United Methodist Church sanctuary choir will present “Sounds of Christmas” Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The church is located at 5576 Mt. Zion Road near Union City.
Jane Moore will be pianist and the choir will be under the direction of Catherine Roberts, with Elizabeth Roberts serving as organist.
The public is invited to attend.

Special service told
Friendship Free Will Baptist Church, located at 1304 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City, will be having a special service Sunday at 2 p.m. when Elder James Jones and the congregation of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church in Woodland Mills are guests. The public is invited to attend.

Cantata slated
The pastor and congregation of Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy invite the community to a Christmas cantata, “Hope Has Hands,” Sunday at 11 a.m.
The choir will be directed by Mike Muse.
