Brandi Goodman was unstoppable. That made Obion Central unbeatable.
The 6-2 senior center tied a career-high with 34 points and pulled down 22 rebounds to lead the Lady Rebels past Crockett County 76-49 Tuesday night in Alamo.
OC’s boys were not as fortunate in a 66-53 loss.
Meanwhile, South Fulton had a similar split at Halls with a 65-48 girls’ win and 64-58 boys’ loss.
Central’s girls continued their dominance of District 13AA, now 10-1 overall and 6-0 in the league. The Rebel boys, meanwhile, are 6-6 and 3-3.
The holiday tournament circuit is next up for both Rebel teams.
OC’s girls will be busy, playing in the Heritage Bank Hardwood Classic at Calloway County before Christmas and then in the 12th annual Dragon Fire Invitational at Collierville after Christmas.
At Calloway, the Lady Rebs will play Memphis East 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Jackson South Side 5 p.m. Friday before concluding the event with two games in seeded tournament play on Saturday.
Central will then play four more games in Collierville, beginning 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 against Millington.
The Rebel boys will play three games in the Nera White Christmas Tournament, opening up with Westmoreland 6 p.m. Dec. 27th.
OC 76, Crockett 49 (G)
Goodman had 18 points in the first half as the Lady Rebels put away the game early, scoring 17 of the first 19 points.
Two 3-point baskets from Katie Williams and another from Payton Prescott helped the Lady Cavaliers cut the margin to 24-13, and Crockett County was within 33-21 at the half after trailing 23-7 after the first period.
Baskets by Goodman, Paige Hicks and Ali McEwen put the game away to open the third period, lifting OC to a 50-25 lead, and the gap continued to grow in the fourth frame, reaching 31 points at 72-41.
Hicks finished with 15 points for Central, while four treys accounted for Williams’ team-best 12 points for Crockett. Libby Hart added 11 points for the Lady Cavs, now 5-6 overall and 4-3 in the district.
Crockett 66, OC 53 (B)
The two teams battled back and forth throughout the first quarter and the opening seconds of the second frame before Elijah Shaw put the Cavaliers in control.
Central took a 6-1 lead early, getting baskets from Zack King and Mike Klein, but Will Jones dropped a pair of 3-pointers to give the Cavs their first lead of the game at 11-10.
Bryan Morris hit once from the line, and King added another basket for a 13-11 OC lead, but then George Douglas ended the first frame with a triple to put Crockett County back ahead at 14-13.
Shaw Logan opened the second frame with a basket, giving OC its final lead of the game at 15-14. Shaw then scored three times and Douglas added another trey for a 23-15 Cav lead.
Jones hit another trey, and Shaw had 12 points in the quarter as Crockett County went into intermission with a 33-25 lead.
Central then spent the second half closing the gap only to see Crockett pull away.
The Rebs were within 39-35 on four Logan free throws and then trimmed the difference to just two points, 42-40, on a trey by Klein.
Crockett (9-3, 6-1) closed the third period on a 9-1 run, however, to lead by 10, 51-41.
Two more Rebel triples pulled Central within 55-49, but then Crockett closed the game on an 11-4 run.
Logan had 17 points, Klein added 12 and Morris tallied 11 to go with eight rebounds for the Rebels.
SF 65, Halls 48 (G)
Taleeah Cross tossed in 20 points to lead the Red Devilettes, who blew past the Lady Tigers over the final three quarters after falling behind 14-9 in the first.
Cross added six rebounds, five steals and four assists, while Ka-lon Martin put up a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Laken Haley added 17 points for SF.
South Fulton took a 26--20 lead into intermission and was up 46-30 after three quarters.
Halls 64, SF 58 (B)
The Redmen led 20-12 after one quarter but saw Halls fight back to within 32-27 at the half. The Tigers led 45-44 after three periods.
Harrison Hawks had 26 points, Tevaris James added 10 points, Keshawn McManus had eight points and 10 rebounds and Clint Wells added six points and eight boards for the Redmen.
