WIDE OPEN ‘SPACE’S — Leah Jackson’s third-grade class at Union City Elementary School recently completed special projects following a unit of study of the solar system. Showing off their projects were (from left, front row) Hunter Edwards, Kalie Crowell, Cynthia Mendoza, Brittany Dysart, Kiran Last, (back row) Cady Wheeler, Alyssa Freeman, Emily Searcy, Brad Dillon and Abby Bruff. The students used many Internet Web sites and PowerPoint presentations to enhance their learning. Various art projects were also used to reinforce learning and creativity. Students were assigned optional space projects to turn in at the end of the unit.
