Covington forfeits all games; seeded 10th
Covington forfeits all games; seeded 10th | Covington forfeits all games; seeded 10th

BREAKING SPORTS NEWS: Second-ranked Covington (26-2), the top boys' seed in the upcoming District 13AA Tournament, has forfeited all of its regular season victories after two players who had reportedly transferred from Haywood were ruled to be ineligible by the TSSAA.

The fallout from the news means that the Chargers will drop to the bottom of the bracket and be the No. 10 seed, bumping everyone else up a spot.

Obion Central will now be a sixth seed and will play at No. 3 Haywood in a quarterfinal game rather than playing Milan Saturday in a play-in contest.

Westview and Crockett County will now play tonight for the regular season championship — the prize for that likely a do-or-die date vs. Covington in the quarterfinals should Covington beat tonight's South Gibson-Gibson County winner in a Saturday' play-in game.

Dyersburg and Ripley will be the 4 and 5 seeds, with Milan now moving to No. 9. Check back for any further developments.
