Briefly UC, OC get wins from Covington Both Union City and Obion Central gained from Covington’s loss. With the Charger boys’ team forced to forfeit all 24 of their victories prior to Friday for the use of a pair of ineligible players, UC and OC were among the many teams to gain a paper victory. UC had dropped a 93-81 decision to Covington in a Hall of Champions game, while Central was on the short end of a 76-60 score the first time the two teams played in District 13AA. The Tornadoes are now 19-6 entering the postseason, while Obion Central is 14-13 after losing to Covington 71-58 Friday. Westview also picked up two forfeit wins over Covington, making its mark 25-4 heading into Tuesday’s 13AA quarterfinal showdown against Covington. Published in The Messenger 2.11.13 |
