William Harold “Bill” Garrison, 74, of Troy was pronounced dead on arrival at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City Feb. 8, 2013.
Graveside services were set for 4 p.m. today at Troy’s Terrace Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Tony Smith officiating. His grandsons were to serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 1, 1939, in Friendship, son of the late William Russell and Dollie (Cherry) Garrison. He married the former Carolyn Sue Watson July 3, 1973. She survives. He had owned the former Muddy Waters Radiator Shop in Troy and was a mechanic.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy.
He is also survived by three sons, Billy Garrison of Union City, Tim Jones of Troy and David Jones of Summerville, Mass.; his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Mike Traverse of Troy; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Stephanie Traverse, Randi Traverse and Chris and Jamie Jones, all of Troy, and Corey and Miranda Jones, Cameron Jones and Clay Jones, all of Martin; and six great-grandchildren, Shawn Michael Traverse, Jaci Traverse and Ezzie Jones, all of Troy, and Lexie Jones, Harper Jones and Tobey Jones, all of Martin.
He was also preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Coy Michael Grady and Lola Grace Jones; and his half sister, Evelyn Hicks.
