The movie showing Monday at the local GOP headquarters is “The Battle of Athens.” This is a true story of citizens in Athens who took up arms to defend the election process that was being corrupted by a renegade sheriff. This event took place in McMinn County in Tennessee in 1946.
Show time is 6:30 p.m. at 215 South First St. in Union City. Refreshments of hot dogs and soft drinks will be served during intermission.
