Drug charges levied

The Messenger, February 21, 2013 Four people were arrested on drug-related charges after a search warrant was served Wednesday at a home on Mount Vernon Road near Sharon in rural Weakley County. The search was conducted by the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department’s criminal investigations division and resulted in four suspects being charged with several different charges related to methamphetamine. Two meth lab dump sites in a wooded area next to the house had been cleaned up by the sheriff’s department the week of Feb. 10, resulting in the search warrant which was executed Wednesday, according to a press release from the sheriff’s department. Among those charged were Brenda Nobles, 45, and Cassandra Nobles, 25, both of 1904 Mount Vernon Road, possession of methamphetamine and promotion of methamphetamine manufacture; John Calvin Elkins, 28, of Martin, possession of meth with intent to resale, initiation of meth manufacture and promotion of meth manufacture; and Lonnie Nelson, 30, of Sharon, initiation of meth manufacture and possession of drug paraphernalia.
