Two businesses in Martin recently had their beer licenses suspended by the city’s beer board committee due to the sale of alcohol to a minor.
Los Portales and Smoke & Suds both lost their beer licenses for 30 days and were penalized $500, according to a press release sent today from the Martin Police Department.
Both businesses have the opportunity to appeal the decision and have an appeal hearing. If either decides to appeal, the hearing with the City of Martin’s beer board will take place March 11 at 5:15 p.m. at Martin City Hall. A police spokesman said both businesses may continue to sell alcoholic beverages until the hearing or, if they choose, may pay a penalty and not lose their licenses.
