GOLDEN POND, Ky. (AP) — The Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area is about to open some facilities for the 2013 season.
Several popular visitor attractions will open Friday including the Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station and Piney Campgrounds.
The Elk & Bison Prairie remains open from dawn until dusk every day, year-round.
Two new nature viewing sites will open this year. They’re called Empire Point and Bobcat Point.
Land Between The Lakes environmental specialist Darrin Samborski says the new sites are open during daylight hours only and offer something new every season, such as migratory songbirds from spring through fall and waterfowl and eagles in the winter.
