Pageant planned
Trace Creek Baptist Church, located at 3577 State Route 131 near Mayfield, Ky., will present “The Promise,” a pageant of the life of Jesus Christ.
The special event will be staged at the congregation’s family life center beginning March 22 at 7 p.m. and continuing March 23 at 2 and 7 p.m., March 29 at 7 p.m., March 30 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 6 p.m.
This is a blend of drama and music that is presented by a cast and crew of more than 200 members. The presentation follows the life of Christ from the announcement of His birth to His ascension into heaven.
Scenes include the nativity, the calling of the disciples, the temptation of Christ, the crucifixion, the ascension and many others.

Café to open
Exchange Street Church of Christ in Union City is reopening Soul Food Café for 2013 after taking off the last two months for the new year and for the flu.
The congregation wants to extend an invitation to everyone to come and enjoy a spaghetti meal Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m. The meal is free, a spokesman said.
Singing set
Area wide congregational singing is set for Friday from 7-10 p.m. at Bishop Street Church of Christ at 908 Bishop St. in Union City. Refreshments will be served at 8:15.
