It’s time to SOAR at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Graduating high school seniors who have applied for admission to UT Martin and received a tentative or final acceptance letter are urged to attend Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) to learn more about resources available on campus and select classes for the upcoming fall semester.
All events will be held in Boling University Center on Wayne Fisher Drive in Martin.
Several SOAR sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The first is scheduled for April 27. Additional sessions are set for June 6-7, June 27-28 and July 18-19.
The registration fee is $40 for students and $15 for each accompanying parent, guardian or sibling. It includes all meals and breaks.
The April 27 session will begin with registration at 8 a.m., followed by information sessions on banner orientation, financial aid and business affairs at 9. Lunch will be followed by sessions on student housing, student activities, Greek life and meal plans. Participants may attend two sessions. Advising and class registration will begin at 1:15 p.m.
Overnight housing is available in the campus residence halls for those attending a two-day SOAR session in June or July. The cost is $15 for a student or $25 for a student and a parent, guardian or sibling (maximum of four people). Sheets, towels, blankets and pillows are provided. Overnight accommodations are also available at local hotels at a special rate for SOAR.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend with their student since informational sessions will be offered on topics such as financial aid and student housing.
Tuition and fees will not be collected until the start of the semester and are not due at SOAR.
Pre-registration is required. To register, visit www.utm.edu/soarregister. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. For more information, visit www.utm.edu/soar or contact the UTM Office of Admissions at (731) 881-7020.
