Voice master class planned

A voice master class will be offered March 18 at 4 p.m. in Watkins Auditorium of Boling University Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin. Eugene Cline and Anne De Launay will conduct the class. Cline, a faculty member at the University of Idaho, holds a master of arts degree in piano accompanying from the University of Kansas. He has performed at the New York City Opera, Metropolitan Opera and opera companies in Munich and Milan. He has also worked as an assistant conductor of the New Orleans Opera and had an opportunity to accompany Richard Tucker, Jerome Hines and Carol Neblett. Ms. De Launay, assistant professor of voice at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, holds a doctor of musical arts degree from Louisiana State University. She has performed in major opera houses in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. As a soprano soloist, she performed in the role of Amelia in “Un Ballo” and Turandot in “Turandot.” The class is free and open to the public, a spokesman said.
