ACT prep, PowerPoint courses offered

The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Continuing Education is offering ACT preparation and intermediate PowerPoint courses in March. “Making Sense of the ACT” will be offered from 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays March 1-22. Ron Ramage will be the instructor, and the fee will be $50. This course will help participants plan strategies to make the highest score they can make on this test. It is designed for first-time test takers, as well as seasoned veterans. Students will use The Real ACT Prep Guide and should bring the book to the first class meeting. The cost of the text is not included in the registration fee. The book may be purchased on the UT Martin campus at the Barnes & Noble bookstore by calling (731) 881-7760. This class is limited to 20. “Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint” will be offered from 9 a.m.-noon March 25 and 27. Doug Bloodworth, UT Martin programmer and analyst, will instruct the course and the fee will be $85. Participants will learn more about how to effectively use PowerPoint. Topics include learning techniques to reduce the development time in creating presentations and tips in preparing and executing the overall presentation. Advanced registration is required.
