UT Martin bands to perform concert

The University of Tennessee at Martin bands will present “City Sounds” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Harriet Fulton Theatre of the Fine Arts building.
The concert will feature the concert band and the wind ensemble performing music and sounds one might hear in a metropolitan city. Included are Erik Morales’ “Urban Dances,” Scott Boerma’s “City Scape” and Frank Ticheli’s “Blue Shades.”
Admission is free and the public is invited.
“I think this concert will be appealing with its upbeat rhythms and sonorities,” said Dr. Nola Jones, director of bands. “Blue Shades will undoubtedly be an audience favorite with its jazz influence. We are very excited that it gives us the opportunity to showcase UT Martin clarinetist Erin Dismuke.”
